My story has to do with two very special ladies who mentored me more then 12 years ago ... Lisa Prier and Nancy Jenkins. I am so sad that Nancy is no longer here with us and feel the need to share what God did for me and my family through her and Lisa.

I met Nancy and Lisa when I got involved in a ladies Bible study that they taught and I was drawn to their hearts and love for God and women. I felt safe and comfortable with them and was able to share some things in my life that were hard and painful. My husband and I did not attend church together. He believed one way and I believed another. This was the source of most of our fights and kept a huge wall between us. I was living a very legalistic life and refused to believe any other way, and I believed my husband was wrong for the way he believed.

God worked through Nancy and Lisa with prayer, Scripture, love and understanding, to open my heart and my eyes to the truth, and it became clear to me that my husband wasn't wrong, I was wrong. He showed me that he was a Godly man. God was so good and faithful, during this time, that he blessed us with an unexpected pregnancy after 11 years of marriage. God confirmed in my heart where I needed to be and that was in church with my husband, together as a family. I started going to church with him and then a few years ago the Lord led us to Fellowship, where I was so excited to see two familiar faces, Nancy and Lisa. They now went to Fellowship also.

We've had some talks about where we were back then and about God's wonderful plan that He had for me and my family. God knocked down that wall between us and today we have a strong happy marriage and a wonderful son that completed our family. God is amazing. I'm so thankful to Lisa and Nancy for their love of the Lord and their willingness to share His truth and love to me and the countless others they have mentored. Nancy Jenkins was a very special lady and always will be! She loved the Lord, her family, and she loved people. Thank you God for her. She was a blessing to me and my family and will be forever more. I'll see her again in Heaven some day.
