I wanted my children to be a part of the Draw Near to God, Beautiful Day. We chose to serve at the Rogers Animal Shelter. I called them ahead of time and told them what we would be doing and if they would allow a nine and eleven year old to do any hands-on serving. They said their biggest need was wet cat food and that the kids could bathe puppies and walk dogs. We brought two cases of cat food and when we arrived the man in charge showed us the puppy cages and allowed us to bathe, dry, love on and play with several puppies. The kids just loved this. We were also allowed to walk a few dogs. We got so much enjoyment out of serving and plan to do this again in the near future.
