Sometimes the URGENT things crowd out the IMPORTANT things. Draw Near has brought my focus on the IMPORTANT--my daily relationship with Jesus. I evaluated my relationship with the Lord and realized that I was leaning on Him when I felt like I needed Him. When I was lonely, sad or uncertain were the times I turned to Him. On the good days, I seemed to think I was ok on my own. Draw Near has made me focus on daily prayer--just being thankful for the little things and praising Him for all of the good He does. Secondly, it has made me focus on daily prayer with my son. We have evening prayer time together before bed. Listening to my 7 year old thank God for his blessings and watching him close his eyes and call on Him when he is scared has blessed me so greatly. After our day of service, listening to my son talk about helping the blind lady, Josie, was so awesome. He had FUN helping rake leaves, pick up sticks and making her happy made it soooo FUN...As a single mom, instilling the value of a relationship with our heavenly Father is so important. So as a family, we have decided the URGENT things can wait a little longer---so we can focus on the IMPORTANT - Drawing near to God....our awesome God!! Thank you for bringing this study to Fellowship!! Blessings to you all!!
