I have a internet friend whom I’ve been sharing the Lord with. He is a unbeliever and had never read or owned a Bible. I suggested that we take this Draw Near Study together. I mailed him the study guide and a Bible, and nearly every night we have been doing the study. He would listen to the sermons online, and I would hear it when we went that morning. This study has been a life-changing event in his life. What was “normal behavior” that he would engage in, he now recongizes as sin. The Lord has truly “drawn him” to Himself. At one point in the study, he was complaining that the sermons were always pointing fingers at him personally. I told him that it was possible the Lord talking to him rather than our teachers “finger pointing” at the congregation. It’s easy to think that we are the only ones in the room when the Lord is convicting us of something. I want to continue another study with him, but don’t really know what would be a good follow up. Any suggestions would be helpful. I did however, pick up the little “mentoring 101” booklet (which is a 4 series study). Thank you so much for doing this Draw Near Study. My only disappointment of the online sermons is the absentance of the worship songs before the teaching, as my friend hasn’t be able to be a part of that important part of our worship. Please add my friend to your prayer list. He is so close to knowing the Lord personally. Thank you again, and may God bless you.
